Hi, and welcome to a late coffee chat this weekend! Can I get you a cup of coffee? Or perhaps tea? It’s way too late for me to have coffee now (5.15pm in Sweden), but I’ve had my fair share earlier today :) What can I get you?

We’ve had a rainy and windy week. The beginning of the week was cold and foggy. Despite the weather I’ve logged a total of 37.2miles/60km on my bike this week. I am pleased with that. Like I told you last week I took three extra days of work this week, for school assignments, and I managed to complete more school work than I originally planned, which feels fantastic. Some of the bike rides were connected to my field studies for school, some were running errands, and some were just for pleasure.

Several of the bike rides took me along different shores of Lake Runn.

I did spend a lot of time at home this week, reading school research, and writing field study reports. I realized that I would like to add some more light sources in our home (the amount of daylight is shrinking by the day…), so I added four small lamps like the one in the photo above, in areas that could use some extra light. I like this model, you can dim the light, or have more light. You can also turn them in different directions. There’s an auto setting that I use in the hallway, where the light turns on when it gets dark, you can also turn it on and off manually. I am happy with how it turned out. My daughter is sensitive to light, and I have to consider that, but she was OK with these ones. Several smaller light sources that can be adjusted for each activity works better for her, compared to one big light.

Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share this week! My apologize for the late contribution. After a very busy week I decided that I needed to relax this weekend. I’ve been visiting a few blogs, but if you leave a comment to yours I’ll be sure to visit you. How was your week? Weekend?

  2. I wish I could share some of the stellar weather we’ve been having. A gorgeous Indian Summer, such fine weather we’ve been blessed with! (Although rainy days are good as well. :) ) The garden is really done now with nightly frosts, so my to-do list is much shorter. I finally finished sorting and trimming the dahlias today and they just need to be wrapped and stored. The long hibernation begins!
Hope you have a great week ahead! Happy Halloween! 🎃

  3. Can I ask…school work…is that your study or work for school? I don’t speak American English and get a wee bit confused!

    Sounds like a good week.

  4. Hi Maria, lighting is so important in the home. I hate dark rooms it makes the place feel miserable, especially on dull winter days. I bought a couple of lamps recently and it has made such a difference

  7. I think as the days get shorter, we need more light in our lives because otherwise, S.A.D can easily set in.

  8. Hi Maria, Thank you for the coffee and I am late at sending out my weekend coffee share too, but feel I just made it since it is Sunday evening. I love the lighting you got for your place, that is so cool how you can change the lighting so easily. I can see the need as your days grow shorter. I finally finished writing a post that I started I think the first week of October! I’ll share the link, and I am hoping to write more often which I think will be easier once my daughter is at her new place. It gets so late in the evenings with her living here to get to my writing. I’m excited for her and her new apartment! I hope you have a wonderful week my friend! <3
