A couple weeks ago we celebrated the Cinnamon Roll Day. I saved some of the cinnamon rolls on a tray in the freezer, before baking them in the oven. This morning I took the unbaked cinnamon rolls out of the freezer and baked them. I skipped the sugar on top, basically that makes them a healthy treat, right? Perhaps you’d like to try one with your coffee?

What is the weather like in your corner of the world?

We’ve had a mix of rain, wind and some sunshine this week. There’s been plenty of walks and bike rides throughout the week. Last weekend was very windy and I thought that we’d lose all the remaining leaves on the trees, but I was wrong. There’s still some beautiful fall foliage around.

The nights are colder and some parts of the city had their first frost.

I took this picture of our ski slope earlier this week. I wonder how long before it is all covered in white beautiful snow?

Since the nights are colder now I’ve prepared my container garden for the winter. The larger plants have a double layers of frost cloth all around them, and on top of that a thicker plastic (with plenty of ventilation). Fingers crossed they’ll sleep well all winter long, and wake up happy in the spring. Mid-November I’ll plant my garlic and add them to the sleeping collection of plants.

How are you this week? All in all I’ll say it’s been a good week, work and school as usual. I am excited about next week, it is not going to be an ordinary week. I’ve taken a few days off work, not for vacation, I’m conducting field studies for the Special Educator Programme. It is interesting. School development, organizational analysis, leadership, and collaborating with staff and management to remove learning barriers is something that I am passionate about. It is intense to learn this while also working, and sometimes I have to take a few extra days off work to manage some of my school assignments. By new year I am half-way through the 90 credits Special Educator Programme, but since I am only studying part time it is still some time until I graduate. I am very grateful for the opportunity to attend the Special Educator Programme.

How are you planning on enjoying this weekend? Please tell me in a comment! Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share and sharing a lovely walk in your beautiful park.

  1. Congratulations on your schooling, Maria, keep up the fine work! I love the photos, very beautiful colours! It’s been in the 70s and 80s in Las Vegas, the summer swelter is done for the year and biking season is on!

  2. Haha, I suppose cinnamon rolls without the sugar on top should make it healthier. The mountains in my area got a dusting of snow this week. I’m looking forward to seeing updates on your container garden come spring. 😊
