Welcome to the weekend coffee share. Can I get you a cup of coffee? Or tea? It’s been a very quiet week. The highlight was probably watching the Swedish music competition “Melodifestivalen”, with my daughter last night. It is a series of music competitions leading up to the big Eurovision song contest later this spring. My daughter absolutely loves these competitions. They are every Saturday for a couple of months in the winter/spring and she look forward to them all week.

Homemade pizza to be enjoyed while watching “Melodifestivalen.

We don’t always like every song, but it is always fun. Yesterday she talked so much that I could barely hear any of the songs, but it is part of the fun.

I’ve worked a little bit on my crocheting project this week. It’s going to be a large bed cover when finished (in a million years or so.)

In my Daily Gratitude Practice this week I’ve shared some of my garden favourites, perhaps I can plant some ideas for this upcoming gardening season ;) Looking out my window there’s still snow all around and cold weather.

How are you doing? Did you have a good week? Please tell me about it in a comment. Thank you Natalie for hosting the Weekend Coffee Share.

  2. Hi Maria,

Lovely to catch up again and your daily gratitude practice is a great idea. I try to remember to think of three good things, which have happened during the day when I go to bed. This serves an ulterior motive too of trying to help me get to sleep. Last year I had occasional troubles with insomnia and even those couple of times, it was torturous and to be avoided. We have just returned from a wonderful holiday to Byron Bay, which is best known for its beautiful beaches but we also saw some beautiful gardens with veggie patches and dahlias and zinnias in flower as well as roses. So many flowers! Our daughter is studying floristry but also took over our garden and planted thousands of seeds, which didn’t all come to life but it’s been quite beautiful. At the same time, though, there’s that transition through the seasons with flowers coming and going.

    Hope you are well!Best wishes,

    Rowena

    1. My daughter and I also practice thinking of three good things before going to bed! It is a wonderful practice. Does it help your insomnia?

Your vacation sounds wonderful. And how fun that your daughter is studying floristry! We need flowers :)

    1. Thank you Natalie. It also had some difficulties, but I chose to focus on the good stuff. Enjoy the olympics! What sports do you enjoy watching the most?

      1. We get what we focus on. I find choosing to focus on the good stuff helps dealing with the difficult stuff.

Re: Winter Olympics – I enjoyed watching speed skating, skiing, figure skating, skateboarding, hockey…Pretty much all of the winter sports. I don’t sit and watch the events live, just watch the highlights.

        1. So true! I am a firm believer of that!

Olympics can be fun. I like watching figure skating and snowboarding, but I don’t watch everything.

  4. I have to say that the winning song was the best of the ones this week and could even win over all – very Eurovision! As for the firemen….!!!

  7. No snow, but lots of music here – went to a Baroque concert midweek, very enjoyable. No pizza, but we had a beer and nachos before the event!
    Love the crochet, very colourful!

  8. Wish I was there for the pizza! :D The colors of your project are pretty. It really would take me a million years to finish such a thing. After all, I still have a quilt in a trunk that I started in high school, lol!

  9. I’m so glad you’re enjoying watching the music competitions with your daughter. So good to see you crocheting again too. I tried my hand at that a few times and it should be doable when you’re blind, but probably not with my other disabilities.

    1. Thank you for your kind comment Astrid. Do you enjoy watching the Eurovison?

      1. I watch Eurovision sometimes but am not a particular lover of it. If I’m correct, the Netherlands won’t even take part this year because of Israel.
