Welcome to the Weekend Coffee Share! How are you? Can I get you a cup? Today there’s coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to choose from. What would you like?

It has been an unusually warm and dark week, without snow = many cups of coffee! All the Christmas lights does make a difference though. Despite the darkness it’s been a good week so far, and I am sure it will continue being a good weekend since we have making gingerbread houses (plural) on our to-do list. Fun, fun, fun!
Tuesday happened to be my birthday. It was a good day, I worked as usual, had a Swedish fika with friends, and baked pizza with my daughter in the evening.
On Wednesday I participated in a workshop about promoting early reading skills in the morning. For a few years I’ve been participating in a regional project that promotes reading and the importance of helping young children to develop their own reading skills. I love everything about reading, promoting books and reading is something I do with great passion every day! I learned to read when I was 5 years old, my daughter learned to read when she was 3 years old. On an ordinary day I get up between 4.30-5am and dive in to the world of books and read 1-1,5 hours before I get ready for work. Sometimes I read work/school related books and sometimes I read for my own pleasure. Holding the book in my left hand and a cup of strong, black coffee in my right hand. (It’s kind of funny because if I don’t read I usually hold my coffee with my left hand.) My favourite time of the day.
Wednesday was a was a short work-day, I attended the work-shop, had lunch with the children at work, and prepared some practical things that had to be taken cared of since I was going to be absent on Thursday and Friday. Afterwards I took a long walk to the bike shop, picking up my bike. It’s been serviced and equipped with new winter tires. I am so ready for winter! I mean real winter with snow!
Thursday and Friday I had school. The theme for Thursday was Inclusion of newly arrived migrant students in Swedish primary schools. On Friday we learned more about the Swedish market school system. Things are going well in school, and I learn a lot about different underlaying processes that I have great use for at work. For example this week I learned about how social interaction between students can be promoted in such ways that it is helping students with special needs to develop their language skills.
There’s been time for a few bike rides and several longer walks this week as well. All things consider, a very good week. How is your week? Thank you Natalie for hosting the Weekend Coffee Share!
