Welcome to the weekend coffee share! Can I get you a cup of coffee? Or tea? A hot drink is in place since the weather is freezing outside. It is cold and beautiful, just like I love it!
The beginning of the week was work as usual, all good in that department. Early Thursday morning I took the train to Stockholm for a couple days at the University of Stockholm (I am a post graduate student there.) It takes about three hours to go there by train. (On the way home it only took 2 hours 40 min). I love traveling by train for so many reasons, sustainability is one of the main reasons. This time the train was on time and the journey was incredible in every way.

This (above) is a photo from the inside of the grand central station in Stockholm.

These are photos of the outside (above and below).

The stop before the grand central station is Arlanda airport, and it is easy to take the train directly to your plane if you are traveling longer distances. The grand central station is connected to the subway, the bus station, and the commuter trains to the suburbs. There are many shops, restaurants and cafés inside of this station, one can spend many hours here without a problem, it has most things you could possibly need.

When I am traveling I love taking walks to enjoy the new surroundings. In Stockholm I love looking at old houses. Interesting architecture fascinates me.

Where I live, in Dalarna, many houses are typical little red Swedish houses, and it is more country all around, which I love. However that makes it interesting to see something else from time to time.

I took many walks while in Stockholm, but daylight is scarce this time of the year, and I spent the middle of the day at the University. I’d love to go there soon again with more free time to explore during the day.

I don’t know if I could live in Stockholm, but if I did I would deal with it like I did when I lived in Las Vegas, make sure to get out in nature as often as possible. Stockholm is surrounded by amazing nature, even though I did not have the time to enjoy it this time. It is easy to take a boat out to one of the many islands.

I stayed at a decent hotel in the middle of the city. It was convenient since my schedule was busy.

Have you been to Stockholm? Or would you like to visit? What are some of the things that you like to do when visiting a new city? Studying interesting architecture and good food is high on my list. I did visit a couple different buffés this time. I do like buffés very much!

Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share. Please tell me about your week! What are you most grateful for so far? Any fun weekend plans?
Maria
