  2. Beautiful leeks! I harvested the rest of mine 2 weeks ago because we have freezing temperatures already.

    1. Thank you! I’ve given some to friends. The ones I keep I cut, rinse and freeze them in 1/4lbs packages, to use over the winter. I love having them in soups and stews. I sometimes use them in herbal salt, but not this time. Do you grow green onions?

      1. We’ve tried our hands at leeks (starts given to us by a neighbor) and storage onions but have struggled with the input vs the harvest. Some crops are just better grown by the experts ;-) I do love to keep bunching onions and chives in the garden, though!

        1. LOL. It might have to do with the local climate as well. I know you grow many crops I could not grow here. Root cellars use to be very common here, to store the harvest, mainly root vegetables. A root cellar is on my wish list.
