Last night we had a thunderstorm shaking the house for several hours. Needless to say, no one got much sleep. It was one of the bigger thunderstorms I’ve experienced. I usually sleep through them. There are warnings for thunderstorms and rain today as well.

There is a heavy rainfall outside my window as I write this. I had planned to ride my bike to the allotment garden this morning, but due to the expected weather I decided to stay closer to home. I still wanted to go for a ride pretty badly since I rested yesterday.

I had a very nice 7,5km/4.6mi ride along Lake Runn. We have lakes everywhere, but this is the lake closest to my house. It was nice to get some air and I managed to get home before the downpour started. Sometimes not having a destination, just going for a joyride add to the experience. It was peaceful and I felt more rested when I got back from today’s short ride than I felt before I started. That is a nice feeling. Have a great day!

  1. Glad you got to get out for a quick ride. We’re having similar weather. Isolated downpours with lots of rain in a short period of time. Mother Nature showing her power!

    1. Thank you! The weather is similar today, but I woke up early and made short visit to my happy place :) Needed to check on the garlic and the berries :) Have a great day my friend!

      1. Thanks, Maria, same to you. I’ve been enjoying a bumper crop of raspberries this year, and I harvested the garlic the earliest ever, but it was ready… now hanging in the shed drying… smells wonderful! :)

        1. Wow! My raspberries have a long way to go before we can enjoy them. Congrats to that! We are now experiencing temperatures that we had early May last year, and the crops are at the stage they were in early May 2024..at least some of them.

LOVE the scent of fresh garlic :)

    1. They can be majestic, but I have great respect for them and prefer to be safe inside when they are raging.

      Thank you!
