Welcome to the weekend coffee share! Can I get you a cup of coffee? Or tea? Fall is in full swing. There’s beautiful colours all around. All the fall foliage around us makes up for the current grey skies that we have today.

Besides work and school, I’ve enjoyed several amazing bike rides in and around our city this week. I am sharing some of the photos I took during these rides in this post.

We’ve had a high of around 60F/16C most days, some scattered rain showers, some sun, some cloudy days.

Monday-Friday I read a lot of school related books and reports before the start of my work day, but in the evenings and during the weekend I give myself permission to read whatever I want. Yesterday I picked up the book in the first photo at the library (I’ve been waiting for it for several months). It is a new book of one of my favourite Swedish authors. It is the third book in a trilogy about Northern Sweden, the forest, the right to land, and strong women. It is a fiction novel about a family, but it has many similarities with history. I started to read this book yesterday and finished it today, it was very good.

What’s going on in your corner of the world? What colours do you see when you walk outside?

We have a mix of red, yellow, some green, and some brown.

I do love the variety of trees in our area. Trees are interesting and makes any place come alive. I think our city would be rather dull if there was only one kind of trees, I can’t even imagine what that would look like.

I am very grateful for the variety of trees and colours of nature.

They are making new flower arrangements around town every few weeks, and it is always a joy to see the new ones.

Tomorrow I am planning on getting up super early and bake cinnamon rolls to surprise my daughter. Tomorrow is our official Cinnamon Roll Day in Sweden. Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share! Please help yourself to a refill and tell me about your week! Any plans for this weekend?

  3. Autumn colours can be very attractive. It is green here all year round pretty much, but there are places where you can see non-native trees turn autumnal.

Anyway, it is spring here and there is still some blossom on the trees, there are tulips and flowers everywhere. I am expecting to see lots of ducklings soon.

  5. Your city is alive with color– an autumn festival of trees! Our trees are getting there, probably this coming week we’ll approach peak color. We might have our first frost Tues. night! Today, I’ve been repotting porch plants to bring inside and gleaning the garden of anything useful. The end is near!
Enjoy your baking tomorrow and the week ahead. 👍🏼

    1. It is alive!

Well done repotting your plants. I am going to tuck my container garden in for the winter in a couple weeks, waiting for it to get a little colder. No frost in sight here.

      Have a wonderful week!

  6. Very nice leaf colours, Maria. I also start seeing autumn colours in my city but expect that it will be a couple more weeks before they are at their peak. Have a great Cinnamon Roll day tomorrow. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.

  8. I love the autumn colours. How lucky you are to live in such a beautiful place (despite the cold weather :)
We don’t get autumn colours as such wehre we are because most of the trees are eucalyptus, pine and olive.

I would love to join you on a bike ride through the autumn colours and we could even take a flask of coffee :)
