Welcome to the weekend coffee share! Can I get you a coffee? Or tea? Life is busy at the moment and some of you have reached out to ask if everything is ok, thank you for doing that! Everything is good, just busy.

Yesterday I enjoyed my morning coffee here.

School is busy, work is busy, and I try to balance it out during my free time. As usual I spend a lot of time with my youngest child, I go for nature walks and bike rides, and read a lot.

An allotment garden in Stockholm, close to the university.

This week I spent a couple days in Stockholm. I travelled by train (as usual). The trip was great and intense. I attended several interesting lectures and work shops, in special needs education (Thursday and Friday). I was fun spending time with other teachers, the conversations gave me many things to reflect upon.

While in Stockholm I took several walks in some of the beautiful nature areas. Stockholm is a very green city. I go to Stockholm on a regular basis for school and I usually spend one night there, to be able to attend two school days. I try to stay in different parts of the city, to see more. This time I stayed in Södermalm. I’ve been to Stockholm more times than I can count, but I still discover new places. I guess it is like that with any big city. I especially enjoy walking in parks, and finding beautiful views of the city. I also enjoy looking at architecture. In a way I would have liked one more day to enjoy the city just for fun, but on the other hand these two days felt like more than enough! All in all, it was a good trip, and a good week. I am planning on having a relaxing weekend, catching up at home, and going for some bike rides. The days are still warm, but fall is definitely here.

I hope your week is great! I am looking forward to catching with all the interesting blogs I’ve missed this past week. Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share!

  1. Two of Karl’s brothers live in Södermalm and I know exactly where those photos were taken. One of them lives not too far from those allotments. I miss Stockholm.

  3. Sounds like really busy days for you, glad all is well. 👍🏼 Autumn is creeping in here. Nights are now regularly in the 40s, and days in the 60s. The garden is winding down and the fall foliage is ramping up!

    1. Yes, thank you :) Our weather is abut the same. I see yellow and red leaves everywhere when I look out the window, or go for a bike ride.

  9. Stockholm is a city I would like to visit one day – perhaps in the early fall to enjoy the parks?!
Enjoy the weekend – hopefully sunny days to walk and ride bikes!
We’re winding up our trip, will be back in Calgary by the end of the weekend, and happy to be home as it gets too chilly for camping. Might do one more short fall trip if the days stay sunny…

    1. I do hope you decide to come for a visit. Stockholm is an extraordinary city in many ways. Of course I love all the nature areas and the archipelago the most, but looking at old architecture is a close second….and there’s cafes and good food every where. Spring-fall is probably the best time to visit. There might be a handful of hot days around 30C in the summer, but not too many. Enjoy the last of your camping trip.

  10. I am rarely in big cities, but when I have been, it is as exciting and diverse and endlessly interesting just as you describe. The park and gardens in your pictures are beautiful! Your strategy for staying in different parts of the city for each trip seems smart — what a joy to discover new things every time you visit.

  12. I was wondering if everything was ok because you were missing for Gratitude Practice. I sighed in relief when I read that life just got busy – and that you were still enjoying your walks and explorations. Life does this, and it’s all good to enjoy the moment, take time with loved ones.

I am grateful that despite all that is going on around us, there are folks like you who choose to take in the world with gratitude. We are not alone.

    1. Thank you so much for your kindness. When life is busy I try my best to slow down where I can, when I have free time I often turn my phone off, and put all screens away. It’s a strategy that usually works well for me. I still do my gratitude practice every day, but in my head. There is so much to be grateful for. Thank you for sharing so much light.

      1. I am glad all is well with you. Absolutely! We do what we can to share a little gratitude each day, whether it is in our minds, or a simple kind word to someone, or just to take care of ourselves. All so very important.
