Hi, how are you? Can I get you a cup of coffee? Or tea? I hope you’re enjoying a great week. Since I pledge for this blog to focus on inspiration and positivity I will spare you the news, and politics of the week (it is election year in Sweden as well). The weather is lovely. It is hard to tell if it’s summer, fall, or something in between. Lovely it is! Most days this week the temperature’s been around 68F/20C, very comfortable. The mornings are slightly chilly, I’d say just perfect. I could easily live with this kind of weather all year round.

The work week was good, a normal, busy start-of -the-new-school-year week. On my free time I’ve been taking several long walks with my daughter, and enjoyed more bike rides than I can count. I’ve also cleaned up my allotment garden, and the shed that goes with it.

I moved some of the perennials to my balcony: one of my beautiful roses, a large oregano plant, chive, basil, Geranium macrorrhizum ‘Bevan’s Variety’ (three large hanging planters), and lavender. They are going to live there among the 20+ strawberry plants. I wrote in a previous post that I was going to hand over my allotment to another gardener, and I did that yesterday. I feel that the decision is 100% right for me at this point. Obviously I’ll never stop gardening, and I am happy to have some of my favoruites at my balcony now. I am working on the setup for how I will organize the plants at the balcony. For now they are in big pots at the balcony floor. I am planning on adding balcony windbreaks/privacy screens on two sides (the two shorter sides), some shelving, and more hanging planters to utilize the space better. I have an idea in my head. I will look at the second hand stores around town and add things as I go, there is no rush to finish. That said, I will get a comfortable chair ASAP, so that I actually will spend time there these lovely late summer/early fall days.
Our host for the weekend coffee share, Natalie, shares her month in Spain. I like the way she travels like a local (but still with some extra comforts), very much like I would myself.
How is your week? I’d love to hear abvout it!
Maria
