Today I feel grateful for yesterday. My daughter and I had an amazing day in Rättvik, a nearby town.

Most of the tourists have left, and the peace is settling in nicely.

The weather was perfect 71.6F/22C and we decided to take a walk along the shoreline.

We walked towards the church, the walk is very beautiful along the lake, and the church is an historic landmark.

There’s a monument from the late 1800’s honoring our great king Gustav Vasa. He spoke to the Swedish people here year 1520 encouraging the people of Dalarna (our region) to save the native country from foreign domination. Which laid the foundation for Swedens independence and development.

I’ve never taken my daughter here before, and I very much enjoyed sharing this piece of history with her.

On the walk back from the church we talked and talked and stopped at several beautiful places. It was a wonderful day, a day we will remember.

Here is a short video I took right before heading back home. What are you grateful for today? My daughter explained that she had a great day in Rättvik, but that she was most grateful for our conversations, which made my day of course.
