Yesterday I picked up and started to read one of the books on the reading list for this upcoming semester. It explores how teachers can use targeted communication and pedagogical dialogue to build an inclusive environment in schools and preschools. It’s an updated version of the book and I believe it has the potential to be a game changer. I am reading it with a pen in my hand, taking notes as I go. I am taking two different classes at the Special Educational Needs Programme this fall (while working at my regular job four days/week). It is a 90-credit, advanced-level postgraduate program that requires a prior teaching degree and at least three years of professional teaching experience. The program qualifies graduates for a Postgraduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs to work as a Special Educator. I’m attending the programme at half speed, since I work at the same time. At this pace it is going to take me three years to complete the programme. This will be my second year. I am as excited as I was when I started, it is extremely interesting. I am very grateful.

What are you grateful for today?

      1. You are welcome Maria, and I sure will once the heat breaks in the autumn or I take a very early 6AM ride on one of my usual trails…

Today I am grateful for quiet moments. I’ve had a lot of them this. If you get a chance to stop in for a virtual coffee, I’d love to hear your thoughts: Snapshots & Second Cups – Brewing Coffee, Twisting Words & Breaking Pencils
