Welcome to the weekend coffee share! Can I get you a cup of coffee? Or tea? There is so much to tell this week, but I’m going to have to keep it short and sweet, since we have a very special guest this week and I’ll have tos tart getting ready for today’s adventures in a few minutes.

The guest is my daughter’s grandfather (ex-father in law). It is his first time in Sweden and I am so happy that he is making the effort of visiting his granddaughter all the way over here. He arrived on Friday, and after a good night’s sleep we took him to Falu Copper Mine. He’d expressed a wish to see it, and we figured that was a good place to start.

I’ve written several post about the mine previously, so I don’t have to get into any details about the mine this time. If you are interested you can read more about it here.

We walked around the great pit and viewed the mine from different perspectives. On the hiking trail around the mine you can see the sign above. It says “Everything is going to be fine”. There are other signs along the trail as well, wordplay, with different type of puns. For example there is a sign looking like our bus stop signs at one of the vistas saying “kissing stop” (Pusshållplats), in Swedish it rhymes with bus stop (Busshållplats). It’s kind of fun (and perhaps gives a sense of our language).

We also visited an art exhibition with mixed art. I’ve visited this exhibition twice before and really enjoyed it, so it was fun taking my daughter and her grandpa there.

The art is made out of paper, and has such great details all over.

Naturally we visited my allotment as well. It was fun, even though it rained a little. Grandpa had seen photos before, but didn’t realize how big it was until he saw it in person.

Lunch break with a family sized pizza, at one of our local restaurants.

I wrote about another outing we took our grandpa on in my daily gratitude. I believe this is my personal favourite. I love this place so much! It might be one of the most magical places on earth. Unfortunately it rained during our visit, but it was still extraordinary.

Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share! Now it is your turn to tell me about your week! How are you? Would you like a refill on your coffee, while telling me all about your world? I apologize if I missed some of your blog posts, I will catch up when possible. On to the next adventure!….and it is my first borns birthday today! A very important day! I can’t believe he is already 21 years old!

    1. Thank you! So much that we want to share with grandpa :) We do take time to sit down and talk as well. There’s some driving involved going to some of the places and that gives excellent opportunities for conversations.
