Today I’m grateful for a little bit of time in my garden. It’s been a crazy week weather wise. On Friday we had 75F/24C and today (Sunday) we had a high of 50F/10C. The garden could have used a little bit more pampering than I’ve offered this week. My daughter is sick and she is always my top priority. Today while she was sleeping in I made a quick visit to the garden, and I am grateful to see that it is doing ok. I covered some sensitive crops to better protect them for the colder nights we’re expecting this coming week.

What are you grateful for today?

Maria

  4. The weather is up and down here, too. Today is windy in the 40s and then Tues is supposed to be 80–The poor plants don’t know what is happening! Still I’m grateful we had a bit of rain and more supposedly on its way. (The vernal ponds are drying up and I worry for the amphibians.) Hope H is feeling better. 🙏🏼

    1. Thank you! There’s different varieties of lettuce and salad greens, radishes, carrots, beets, rhubarb, oregano, garlic, red onions, yellow onions, chive, Eqyptian running onions, tulips, and many newly planted flowers (seedlings).

    1. Carrots and beets are staples in my home, I eat a lot of them year round. Beets are for some reason easier to grow here. I grow carrots as well, but they never get as big as I would like them too.

      1. Carrots like sandy soil… maybe that is why.. also I remeber my first carrot “field” I watered them… so they where about 5 cm long :) Don’t water them!
