Today I took the time to stop for a few minutes to enjoy this beautiful place. I had it all to myself . I listened to the birds and the wind. For a while I admired two butterflies dancing in front of me. I am grateful for this beautiful moment in time. What are you grateful for today?

  2. Such peace! 😍
Today, I’m grateful for tick spray, ha! The numbers of those creepy crawlies are terrible this year!

    1. Oh, my! No ticks in our yard yet, but that doesn’t mean they won’t come. What kind of spray do you use? I want to be prepared.

      1. OFF Family Care spray, which is 7% DEET, lasts about 2 hours, so a fairly mild dose. It is less risky than tick-borne disease, definitely the lesser of two evils. I spray legs and arms mostly, but once black flies start, around my face and neck hairline, too. Works well (I still do full-body checks after I come inside, not taking any chances).

    2. I hope you stay far away from any ticks. Do you get vaccines for tick-borne diseases? Many people here get those, I don’t, but I usually don’t spend time in any areas where ticks are common either.

      1. There was a vaccine for Lyme, but it got pulled, still encumbered by bureaucracy and politics, sadly. It is a real problem here in the northeast and midwest particularly. Unfortunately, we are now up to 14 tick-borne diseases, Lyme being only one, enough to make one paranoid!

  4. Such a beautiful place! Is this a pond or part of a river? Butterflies are wonderful creatures. ❤️ I’m grateful for a solid 8 hours of sleep last night, the beautiful sunshine today and a fresh pot of chili slow-cooking. Mm…

    1. It is a pond next to my garden. It was originally made to feed water to the mine. My garden is above Falu Copper Mine (not super close).

8 Hours of sleep is lovely! I hope the chili was wonderful. Enjoy your day.

      1. 9 hours last night, I felt wiped out. Above a mine, that seems scary! It’s a beautiful pond, Maria! I had a bowl of chili for breakfast and wow it was so goood!
