I stopped and admired this bumblebee in action on the way home yesterday.

Walking to work, and walking home from work can be important opportunties to reset and reflect. On the way to work I try to prepare my mind for the little people I am about to meet (I’m a kindergarten teacher). On the way home I let go of work related challenges. Nature helps me to reset my mind according to current needs. If I face extraordinary challenges at times I take the long way home, taking a longer walk through a nearby forest, or a walk by the lake. I am grateful for the freedom in my life that allows this.

What are you grateful for today?

  2. Excellent strategy for maintaining balance, Maria.
Likewise, I need a daily walk around the property to bring me out of my head and into what really counts. I love where I live!

  4. I didn’t know you were a kindergarten teacher! A busy but rewarding job, I’m sure. Wonderful that you have a forest to walk through to rest and recharge after a hectic day dealing with the little ones.

  5. That is a lovely photograph, Maria. At first, I was admiring the colour, but that little bee surprised me. I love bees.

      1. I considered trying my hand at bee-farming, but I would feel more committed to the idea if I could take a class somewhere and learn a few things about it first. I wouldn’t want to let the bees down.

        1. I would love to take a class like that myself…but I am severely allergic to bees and I don’t think it would be a good idea for me to start with bee keeping. I’ll continue admiring them from a distance and plant flowers that they love.

          1. No, it probably wouldn’t be the safest adventure for you. I imagine that a few stings are part of the bee-farming process.
