Welcome to the weekend coffee share! Can I get you some coffee? Or tea? It’s the third weekend in March and the sun is shining. Yesterday I had school all day, and I was sitting in my combined living-room-kitchen watching the sun shine on my dirty windows, starting what my daughter called a “cleaning frenzy”. I didn’t do that much, the house was clean, it was just the strong sun on the windows making me realise that it was time to clean them, so I did. I also took my bike to a nearby second hand store to look for some suitable spring drapes. During the winter I have shorter curtains to let a lot of light in, and in the spring and summer I have longer drapes to make the strong light softer, and keep the temperature down. (Don’t worry about my schoolwork, it is all in good standings. I’m always ahead of my schedule.)

I like the soft light shining through the drapes, and the fact that I can see my plants. I like having large window and the feeling it creates. The apartment feels bigger, and I feel closer to the outdoors. Therefor I want to have light drapes, where I am still able to take advantage of the benefits of the large windows. Before putting up the new drapes I installed mosquito netting for the balcony door, to be able to have it open without getting uninvited guests.
It feels like spring in the air. This week have offered several really nice bike rides and beautiful long walks. I’ve had coffee with friends in town a couple times this week. I love the simplicity of meeting up a friend and have a cup of coffee and a conversation. It is a simple pleasure that I love very much. Speaking of coffee, can I get you a refill?
I’m about to enjoy another bike ride, but I will be back and catch up on all the lovely blogs I’ve missed so far this week. Thank you Natalie for hosting the Weekend Coffee Share! Now it’s your turn, I would love to hear about your week.
Maria
