Welcome to the weekend coffee share! How are you? Can I get you a cup of coffee? or tea?

Late February-mid March when the amount of daylight is increasing by the day I usually repot my indoor plants (some yearly, and some every other year). This year I tried something differently. This is not a paid post! I read about a plant substrat that was suppose to be really good for the plants, and beneficial for those of us that suffers from allergies. I love having plants, but large amounts of soil in my apartment can sometimes trigger allergies. I decided to try LECHUZA-PON an all natural mix of pumice, lava, zeolite, and slow-release fertilizer. I watched several Youtube videos from real life people that already tried it, before trying it on some of my own plants.

This is what the mix looks like close-up.

Over a period of five weeks I’ve repotted all the plants, except the ones in my daughters room. During the process I also divided some plants that needed more space. I think early spring is the best time for repotting plants, just before their natural growth spurt. So far I am most happy with the LECHUZA-PON substrat. My plants seem happy. I’ll do a follow-up post in a couple months. I really like that the substrat can be re-used indefinitely. I am planning on trying the substrat for some of the warm weather vegetables later this spring, veggies that aren’t suitable for outdoor winter planting. Have you tried something similar?
This week the host of the weekend coffee share, Natalie, shares a fabulous light show. If you write a coffee share I’ll do my best to visit some time this weekend. The weekend is usually the time I try to catch up on blogs I missed during the week. It feels like visiting old friends :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
