Can I get you a cup of coffee? Or tea? How is your week? My week is great so far. Work and school was a blast. I accomplished more than I set out to do, which is a great feeling. We are enjoying warmer weather, but it is still winter. I wouldn’t mind if it stayed colder for a few more weeks, and I believe the participants in FIS Cross Country World Cup 2026 that takes place in my town this weekend, and the participants in Vasaloppet/The Vasa Ski Race the world’s oldest and largest long-distance cross-country ski race taking place tomorrow slightly north of me, agrees that slightly colder weather wouldn’t hurt. If it’s too warm it’s more difficult to ski, you have to work a lot harder, imagine wading through a river compared to crossing on top of a lake or river that is frozen solid.

My daughter enjoys a week long winter sport break to celebrate the last of the winter season. We’ve been taking many longer walks this week, combined with some fun outings visiting cafes and restaurants. Yesterday we went to Ikea in a nearby town to get a new desk for my daughter. I prefer buying furniture second hand, but she is very picky, and her room on the smaller side. This was the best choice. I am so happy that she is going to have (it’s getting delivered tomorrow) a good desk for all her artistic projects. It is very important.

I have kept up with my Daily Gratitude Challenge every day this year. I am happy about that. My goal is to reflect on things I am grateful for, make a blog post every day, and interact with my fellow bloggers at least four days a week (depending on my schedule).

Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share. Now it is your turn! Tell me more about your week!

  1. I like that your daughter’s week off is a “winter sports break.” My boys get a week off in March, and we refer to it as spring break. We don’t have any plans for it yet, but some walks and cafe visits sound like a nice idea.

    1. Yes! That is actually the official name for it! Our week off in the fall is nowadays only a “fall break”, it used to be “The potato break” because children used to help their families with the potato harvest, but that was long time ago..I hope you enjoy the break with your boys. Our break is over and we’re back to school again.

      1. “The potato break” makes me smile. First, because I love potatoes, and second, because it’s a cute name and its history is interesting.

  4. It was a fine week here, with a mix of sun, clouds, as well as temps and a snowstorm thrown in. Very February! ;) My recovery after my hospital stay continues and I’m learning new ways of being so I don’t repeat that mess! With the longer days, it really does feel like spring is around the corner. I started onion seeds today!
