Welcome to the weekend coffee share! Can I get you a cup of coffee? Or tea? Today it is a good thing that this is a virtual coffee share, because I have something that best could be described as the flu, or a really bad cold. As long as I take it easy I don’t feel too bad, but for the past three days I’ve been resting and sleeping a lot more than I usually do. I have a fever, sniffles, a sore throat and aches all over my body. ..but still not feeling too bad, so don’t feel sorry for me. Since this is a virtual coffee share I can still offer you some delicious scones to go with your hot beverage, inspired by Thistles and Kiwis coffee share that I read yesterday. I woke up seeing the delicious photo of her scones teasing me inside my head, forcing me to bake some for my daughter and me.

My daughter enjoyed some homemade blueberry jam on her scone. Would you like to try some? The blueberries are picked by one of my colleagues. She gifted me some blueberries as a thank you for all the plants I gave her last spring. The blueberries became several jars of jam.
Today is the last day of January and I feel good about the start of my Daily Gratitude Practice 2026 where the goal was to make one post a day, with a photo of something I am grateful for. I have been practicing gratitude every day and my goal is to continue in the same spirit the rest of the year. What are you grateful for today? In today’s post I wrote about one of my returning, favourite crops in the garden. I am thinking that writing about favourite crops that I grow every year is going to be a returning theme in the gratitude series this spring, when people are starting to think about what they want to grow in their gardens this year. What do you think about that? Would you be interested in reading about proven crops that are relatively easy to grow and give an abundant harvest, and/or have other benefits that should grant them a given place in a garden? Crops that are of particular interest to me are the ones that my family likes to eat, and ones that are relatively easy to get self-sufficient in, in combination with flowers that serves as pest deterrents and attract pollinators to my garden.
Thank you Natalie for hosting the Weekend Coffee Share! Now it’s your turn to tell me about your week! Would you like to share some highlights?
