Hi, welcome to the weekend coffee share! I am a little late, it is already Sunday afternoon in Sweden. It has been a busy week and weekend, but there is still some coffee :) Would you like a cup? Or perhaps you’d rather have a cup of tea?

How are you doing? I usually work Monday-Thursday and have school Fridays, but this Friday we had a Teacher’s Education Day, and I needed to work on Friday as well. That left me with a lot of school work to take care of this weekend, so I hope you’ll forgive me for being late with the coffee (or tea, if that is your choice).

What have you been up to this week? What’s the weather like? We’ve had milder weather this week, we still have snow, but not as much as we had before. It also become rather icy on the roads. I was planning on riding my bike up to the allotment garden today, but when I stepped outside the door this morning all geared up for the ride it was very icy and I decided to go for a bike ride another day. I did go for a walk in the morning, but other than that I’ve spent the day inside.

I took this photo of my crocheting project yesterday, but since I spent so much time inside today it almost doubled in size. My daughter wanted to weave and asked me to sit with her, so I did, working on my own project.

Speaking of projects, I’ve been making a post for my Daily Gratitude Practice every day this year. I’m going to do my best to continue the way I started out. I’d love to hear more about your week! Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share.

  1. Lovely crochet. What are you making? It looks like a cowl or a scarf?

  2. Can I see some of the new wool you bought being used? I’ll sit and have a cup of tea with you and keep out of the cold.

  3. Your crochet is very beautiful, Maria! I think it was a good decision to not ride your bike on the icy roads, that could result in broken bones.

I’ll try the tea please. I have enjoyed seeing you in my inbox daily, I hope you can continue your daily posts, Maria!

It’s sunny and 65F here today, a rather typical weather day here in winter as you know but it will eventually cool down again. Have a great new week my friend. ❤️🌹

    1. Thank you so much John! I am doing my best to at least post one photo a day :) What kind of tea do you like the most? I have all kinds in my cabinet; black, green, and red ones.

Did you enjoy a bike ride today?

      1. I did have a ride and have rarely drank tea, Maria, but I assume it has less caffiene than coffee as it raises my blood pressure.

  4. What a lovely cup, an elegant way to elevate a ritual cuppa. What are you crocheting? It looks like a scarf, but it could be anything. :)
We had 5″ of fluffy snow yesterday, and very light snow has fallen all day, but with the temp just at freezing, there is some melting. We walked the trail around the property and the hushed beauty of snow-lined trees was soul-soothing. I love where I live! As expected this time of year, we’re in for a cold spell this week with single digits and teens. Walks will be brief and lots of wood will be burned. :)
    Have a good week!

    1. Thank you Eliza! The cup was a gift from a grateful parent a couple years ago. I think it is very beautiful and haven’t used it much.

Wonderful, wonderful! It is 28F here at the moment, but we are expecting slightly colder weather in a few days, as expected in January :)

  5. Your crochet is coming along nicely. I love the colour combination. I think the Daily Gradtitude is such a good idea and everytime I write a positive energy note and stick it n my tin I think of you. :)

  6. Your crochet project looks lovely, Maria. We had a major snowstorm on January 15th and it will be cold here next week when I go on my break. Thank you for your weekend coffee share. See you again on January 30th!

  8. Ah! Fellow crafters. Nice. That’s the thing, we need time at home to work on our projects. Unless they are portable and can be done on the go!

Love the colours of your crotchet. What are you making? I am crotcheting a hat for my god-daughter.

    1. Yes! Time at home is important. I am making a bed-spread, it’s going to take forever. I wanted to have a longterm project for long crafty evenings with my daughter.

  9. Ooh, I absolutely love the colors of your yarn. Your project looks beautiful, the blues are my favorite colors!! I meant to comment when you shared the yarn you purchased, and good times chatting with your daughter while you both work on projects. Happy crocheting!! ❤️
