Today I am reflecting over how grateful I am to live in a place with four distinct seasons. I could not tell you which one my favourite is. If you ask me in the winter it would be winter, since I love the crisp winter air and snow. If you ask me in the spring I would go on and on about what’s happening in the garden, and clearly that would be my favourite season. If you ask me in the summer I would talk about swimming in the lake, bike rides, and of course the garden (..again). If we have this conversation in the fall it would be harvest time in the garden, and who doesn’t like an abundance of fresh fruit, berries and vegetables? I love each season for different reasons and it is not by chance I live in this region, it is a choice.
The photo above is Falu River, the river that runs through our little town. This is across the street from the library, that I visit many times every season. I love walking along the river, it connects to a system of smaller lakes in one direction, and our biggest lake, Lake Runn, in the other direction.
