Welcome to the weekend coffee share! Can I offer you some coffee? Or tea? Since we are in Sweden and it is October 4th, we are celebrating Cinnamon Roll Day. I somehow managed to forget about that all week, but it was the first thing I remember when waking up at 5am this morning. I was outside the door to the grocery store when it opened at 7am, to get the ingredients for cinnamon rolls.

The lovely scents of cinnamon rolls filled the house before 9am, as it should this very special day. Would you like to try one?

Or two?

Now when we’re settled in the couch with our beverages and something for our sweet cravings, I’ll ask you about your week. How are things?

I apologise for my absence last week, I’ve moved to a new apartment. The actual move was on Friday, but there was so much to do on Saturday and Sunday as well, I didn’t find one minute to myself. My main goal was to make my daughter (on the spectrum) as comfortable as possible with all the changes, which meant trying to set up the new apartment in some kind of orderly way as fast as I could. She doesn’t do well when things aren’t organised. I’d say that mission is completed, everything went well. The walls are still rather empty, but besides that I am very happy with how things turned out. My daughter is very happy here as well. I can see us living here for a long time. The design of the apartment is perfect for us, not too big, not too small, and it has everything we need. The location is great as well.

I have worked and had school as usual this week, all is good there. Most of my free time went to fixing little things in our home. Do you need a refill? I’d love to hear more about your week! Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share.

  1. So glad the move went smoothly and things are settling down. Home is where the heart is. :)
Love your living-room, the checkered pillows add a nice touch.
Yes to a cinnamon roll! (My spouse thinks we need to make rolls, too. ;) )
The weather here continues to be fine, though the lack of rain is worrisome. The trees are dropping leaves and we’ve already raked and shredded a huge pile for next year’s mulch. A fall tradition I’ve been doing for over 30 years!
The gardens are slowly sinking back to the earth… with a couple nights in the 30sF, the annuals have stopped growing and I’ve pulled a lot of them. It was a great and abundant year. Now I look ahead to the laziness of the dormant season. :) Have a great week.

    1. Thank you so much Eliza! I love how you look forward to the “laziness of the dormant season” that is a positive way to look at things! Thank you! I have neglected my garden for the past 2-3 weeks, I’ve made short visits but haven’t done much work. I have tons to do now! Some days when I could have gotten some work done there’s been some bad storms with heavy winds and rain, days not very suitable for garden work. I am hoping to get some things done today. I still have lots of veggies to harvest, and weeding…

      1. I’ve been letting things go, too. I picked a last zucchini which matured in the latest warm spell, not sure how it will taste. I’ve got seed to collect (maybe today) and deadheading the prolific self-sowers, so I’m not inundated next spring. It seems the weeds always win out this time of year when I let my guard down!

        1. I know what you mean with the weeds winning…I spent a couple hours today fighting with them.

Moles had been chewing on all my sweet potatoes and radishes, one or two bites on each..yum yum..

      1. They were delicious! I would reduce the amount of sugar in the cinnamon sugar as I didn’t use it all.

  7. Thank you for the virtual share. Your new place looks lovely. I have a son on the spectrum so I understand the benefits of front loading, order, and familiarity. You’re a great mom.

Those cinnamon rolls are calling me. I wish you didn’t live so far away, though as things go in this country, I would much prefer Sweden.

I could probably mange a cinnamon roll (or two!)
Our week was pretty good, a few days in the mountains and our first snowfall – just a few centimetres overnight, gone by early afternoon, but a reminder fall is short here!

    1. Thank you so much! Snow!! I guess it isn’t that far away from us having our first snow fall…but it feels like summer isn’t completely gone yet. Sorry for the late reply.

  12. Moving is always so stressful. I am glad you were able to make the new place comfortable for your daughter so quickly. Cinnamon Roll Day sounds like a great excuse, but not that you need one. They look amazing. Now I am planning on making some this weekend.
