Welcome to the weekend coffee share! If we were enjoying coffee together this weekend you’ll probably notice that I am very relaxed, almost more than during my vacation. It has been a great week, working the three first days and starting out with my own school projects (for the University class I am taking this semester) on Thursday and Friday. Even though it has been a full week there’s been many chances to stop and smell the roses during the week. Or more so smell the sunflowers that are in full bloom.

Sunflower is my favourite flower. This year I am growing giant sunflowers at my allotment. They are much taller than me, 7-8ft/2-2,5m high. I’ve been to the allotment twice during the week and of course I’ll spend some time there this weekend as well. I need to enjoy the sunflowers while they last :)
The weather is so nice around 68-70F/20-22C. There’s still lots of berries to pick; raspberries, gooseberries, red currants, black currants and some strawberries. We eat a lot of berries when they are in season. I make fruit salads, smoothies, we use them as topping on yoghurt, and I like to have plenty of berries in my over-night oats with chia seeds (so yummy.) I’ve also been filling the freezer, it is almost full, I have to start making jam soon.
Yesterday my daughter and I baked cinnamon rolls. This time she made them almost by herself, I only helped a little. When she was little she loved helping me in the kitchen and around the house, but that stopped almost completely around the time we moved back to Sweden and a lot of other things filled her mind. Recently she’s been initiating to do more around the house of her own free will, which makes me very happy. Before becoming a teacher I was a baker and I would really love to teach her everything I know about baking. She told me a couple weeks ago that she wants to starts learning more about baking now. I mostly bake bread, pizza, cinnamon rolls and the occasional cake for celebrations/holidays these days, it would be wonderful if she at least learned those basics.
How is your week? Thank you Natalie for hosting the weekend coffee share!
Maria
