Most summer days I arrive to my allotment garden before 6am. It is a 7,5km/4.6mi bike ride one way for me to get there. Yesterday morning I saw a gorgeous fox cross the trail just ahead of me on my way to the garden. The fox looked so healthy in his shiny red coat.

When I get to the garden it is so quiet, but yet not quiet at all. There are no people, but you can here the buzzing of bees and bumble bees everywhere. They are very busy! My favourite time of the day in July are these early mornings listening to the pollinators buzzing and the birds sing. These mornings when I slow down and experience with all my senses are priceless to me. What is your favourite time of the day? Why is it your favourite time of the day?

  1. Pretty poppies! While I do not rise as early as you, I do savor my morning cuppa on our deck overlooking the garden, listening to the birds. Later after breakfast, I venture down to check the garden, always pausing to listen to the bees, and watch the other pollinating visitors, breathing deeply with much gratitude. A serene moment in my day!

    1. That sounds amazing! Very much like my dream life :) I am working towards having a place where I can step outside to some kind of garden. Right now there’s so many things going on in the world and with Ms H growing up I am not sure exactly where geographically I need to get that (hopefully) final garden set-up. I am so happy for you that you have your paradise.
