My daughter and I love sugar snap peas. It’s the third year we’re growing “Norli”. It is a fast growing, high yield pea. It is by far the easiest pea I’ve ever grown. If I harvest one crop in my garden and don’t have a suitable plant to fill the space I put a few “Norli” peas in the ground and shortly thereafter there’s an abundance of peas. The key is to pick them early and there will be more and more and more peas..Last year I froze the peas we didn’t eat in 1/4lbs bags. We’ve been eating peas all winter. They lasted until the week before the first harvest this season. If you’re looking for an easy to grow sugar snap pea “Norli” is a safe card.
By the end of the season save a few peas on the plant and let them dry there. When they are dry, or almost dry, pick them and let them dry a little more in a window sill, or at a kitchen counter. When they are completely dry save them in an airtight container. Those are the peas you’re going to plant next year. It’s a crop that keeps on giving.
